That email came in within hours of delivery. The part worth noting is ‘seeing my little business presented so professionally for the first time.’ Cam has been running CM Electrical in Brisbane for several years with 193 Google reviews and a reputation that is anything but little. But it is the first time the business had proper video production behind it, and that is what he was reacting to.

Overview

CM Electrical Qld is a Brisbane electrical contractor run by Cam McDonald. Based in Clayfield, they cover residential and commercial electrical work across Southeast Queensland, switchboard upgrades, EV charger installation, LED lighting, domestic and commercial fit-out, and large industrial ceiling fan installation through a partnership with Mammoth Fans.

Cam’s background is not a typical sparky’s path. He spent eight years in hospitality and events management in Melbourne before switching to electrical, qualified in 2010, then spent six years in Dubai as a construction project manager building banks, restaurants, beach clubs, and high-end offices for international clients including members of Saudi Arabia’s and the UAE’s ruling families. He came back to Australia and built CM Electrical from the ground up in Brisbane. The business runs on a 5-star Google reputation, 193 reviews at the time of production.

The brief was a brand story video and a set of reels centred on the Mammoth Fans industrial ceiling fan service. The argument for Mammoth Fans is straightforward: commercial spaces in Queensland need air movement, aircon is expensive to run and install, and a large industrial ceiling fan does the job at a fraction of the cost. Cam needed video that explained that argument clearly and showed it working in real client spaces.

We produced the whole package in one day.

The Production

One production day. Four client locations across Brisbane and Southeast Queensland. A brand story film and four reels, with a testimonial captured at each site.

Breathe-Safe in Carole Park10:30am – noon. Industrial business. Mammoth Fans in a working commercial environment. Testimonial captured on-site.
Rebuild Health & Fitness in Wynnum1:00pm – 2:30pm. Gym environment. Fan performance in a high-activity, high-heat space. Client testimonial filmed.
Superordinary in Hamilton3:00pm onwards. Fourth location, fitted in at the end of the day. Completes the spread of client types across the Mammoth Fans portfolio.

Four different businesses. Four different environments. Dance studio, industrial site, gym, commercial office. The variety matters because Mammoth Fans’ customer base is not one type of business, it is any commercial space where aircon is not practical or cost-effective. Having footage from that range of sites in a single brand video demonstrates the breadth of the application without having to say it directly.

The Brand Story Structure

The brand story opens in a hot, stagnant warehouse. Fans humming uselessly. Workers looking drained. It is not a comfortable opening, which is the point. The problem has to be felt before the solution lands.

Cam comes on camera: ‘We knew there had to be a better solution. So we found one.’

From there it moves into BTS footage of the CM Electrical team installing Mammoth Fans, scissor lifts, wiring the controllers, the first power-up of the LED blades in a dark factory. Then the client sites: real businesses, real people on camera talking about what changed. The FitStop testimonial in the script says it cleanly: ‘It’s not just cooler, the vibe in the space is better. Our members are happier. Our staff are more energised and it’s not costing us an arm and a leg like aircon could.’

The film closes on a single wide shot: fans spinning overhead in a working warehouse, workers in motion. On-screen text: ‘Comfort. Efficiency. Performance. Installed by Queensland’s best. Powered by Mammoth.’

The Reels

Each reel was built for a different job in the content funnel and we were able to utilise the b-roll in the main Brand Story video.

Reel 1: Quiet Fans Educational VideoCam on camera explaining how Mammoth Fans work and why they are quieter and more efficient than standard industrial fans. Educational content that answers the first question a commercial buyer has. Drives awareness and positions Cam as the authority on the subject.
Reel 2: Floor Flans ReelAddresses the objection head-on: are large industrial fans hot? Cam in the workshop, direct to camera, talking through the floor fan range. The kind of content a buyer searches for when they are researching but not yet ready to call.
Reel 3: Brand Story Teaser ReelA short cut-down of the main brand story film. Fast-paced, cinematic, designed to stop the scroll and push viewers to the full film. This is the top-of-funnel piece that introduces the CM Electrical x Mammoth Fans combination to a cold audience.

The suite covers the full discovery-to-consideration journey. A business owner who has never heard of Mammoth Fans sees Reel 1 and understands the premise. Reel 2 shows someone like them who has already made the decision and is happy with it. Reel 3 communicates the scale and professionalism of the operation. Reel 4 shows how the work actually gets done and who is doing it.

Why a Brand Story Video Matters for a Trade Business

CM Electrical has 193 Google reviews. They have a reputation. But before this production, if you landed on their website or social pages there was no video. No Cam on camera. No footage of the work being done. No client saying what changed in their business.
