It’s disheartening to watch others in your field succeed while you’re left wondering what secret ingredient they’ve discovered. Trust me, I’ve been here too. I used to see people younger than me flying around the world living the life and I just couldn’t understand what I was doing wrong. The truth is, there’s nothing that you’re doing wrong, there’s just something that you’re not doing right!

Business success rarely boils down to mere luck; it’s about strategic moves and insights you might not be fully leveraging yet—specifically, lead generation.

Unveiling the Solution: Lead Generation

Lead generation is your roadmap to business success. It focuses on attracting, engaging, and converting potential clients into interested prospects. This strategy moves your business from the shadows into the spotlight, turning potential into profit.

Transform Your Business with Lead Generation

I’m all about providing information you can take action on straight after reading this. Are you ready?

Gather Data

Utilize tools like Facebook Insights and Google Analytics to collect data on your current audience, including demographics, interests, and online behavior.

When you head into Google Analytics, if you haven’t already you’ll need to link your website so you can receive data. If you haven’t linked it yet, head to Google Analytics for Beginners.

What information can you find on Google Analytics?

  • What pages on your website are getting the most clicks
  • The location of these clicks
  • How many of these clicks come from desktop or mobile

Head to https://business.facebook.com/ to check out the Meta Business Suite where you’ll be able to see some information about who your content is currently reaching.

You’ll be able to find see:

  • Current Reach (How many accounts you’re reaching)
  • The age & gender of your audience
  • The location of your audience

Analyze the Data

Examine the collected data to identify patterns and common characteristics among your audience. Look for trends in age, geographic location, interests, and engagement behavior.

Let’s say for example you’re reaching predominantly 35-45-year-olds in Brisbane City, Australia, you know you can create content dedicated to those people and talk to them.

This is crucial information when you’re putting together your lead gen strategy. Being able to create content and write copy that talks to your exact audience will increase your conversion rate dramatically.

The Number One Cost-Effective Strategy To Generate A Bucket Full of Leads

An extremely cost-effective strategy is to generate leads in a good old-fashioned way. Cold outreach.

Now is this the most time-efficient? No. But it is free. If your business is only new and you don’t have a decent budget to run ads or you’re running lean, cold outreach is your savior.

Now funny enough, I have been asked what type of cold outreach is best so I’ll list at least what worked for my business when I first started.

When I first started I would find businesses I wanted to work with, head to their Instagram or LinkedIn or website, and find the owner’s email. From there I’d send an email introducing myself and what I do and what I can do for their business. If I didn’t hear back, I’d send them a DM or message on LinkedIn and even call their mobile if I could find it. When I wanted to get a hold of someone and they didn’t have any information listed anywhere, I’d call the business and have a script to get past the admin person.

Honestly, doing this helped me generate a ton of money for my business and thankfully I’m not doing that anymore. It costs time, and time is precious when you’re in a growth phase.

If you have a budget

Okay, so you’ve got a marketing budget! What now?

Run Google Ads and/or Facebook Ads. To know which ones to run, I’d recommend both of course, but as to what to start with if you could only pick one. I’d pick the one where your target audience is. Refer back to the earlier steps, analyze your insights, and work that out based on your data.

Increase Your Conversion Rate

Increasing your conversion rate is crucial for enhancing your business’s profitability. When you effectively convert leads—prospects already showing interest in your services—you not only grow your customer base but also maximize your marketing ROI. Here’s a step-by-step guide to refining your conversion process, making it easier for your leads to transition into paying customers.

Learning more about your customer: Understanding your ideal customers’ needs, pain points, and decision-making process is crucial for tailoring your marketing and sales approaches. When interacting with leads do you find common objections that come up? If you do, work out ways to tackle those objections before they even hop on a sales call.

Gather Insights: Use surveys, feedback forms, and analytics tools to gather insights about your audience. What do they value most in your offerings? Where do they drop off in the sales funnel? This data will inform your strategies to improve conversions. Always be testing and track everything!

A positive, seamless UX can dramatically reduce bounce rates and increase the likelihood of prospects taking the desired action… Becoming a lead. Understand User Behavior: Start by using tools like Google Analytics, heatmaps, and session recordings to gain insights into how users interact with your website. Identify where users drop off, what confuses them, and which paths lead to conversions. This is so important to be tracking early on. The more data you have to play with the more informed your decision making.

Clear navigation aids in guiding users smoothly from initial interest to conversion without frustration or confusion. Any page on your website should be less than 3 clicks away at all times. This is a good rule of thumb.

A delay of just a few seconds can significantly increase bounce rates. It can be fun to have a fancy-looking website, but if it doesn’t load fast and is too clunky, it simply won’t perform.
